British summertime: Wednesday evenings and on Sunday afternoons throughout the year.

Attendances

British summer time: 4 to 10 on Wednesdays: 8 to 12 on Sundays.

Flying

If there is a gentle breeze in Ayr, there will be a firm breeze at Howmoor. Of the days when model flying is impractical, approx 40% will be due to rain, 60% due to wind. The prevailing wind is South Westerly.

Cars

4 to 8 on Wednesdays, 6 to 12 on Sundays

Insurance

All members are fully insured against accident via the Scottish Aeromodellers Association. It is a condition of membership

Flying Site Discipline

1.
It is of prime importance that the access gate from the main road is only to be opened to enable personal or vehicular access. It must be closed immediately & securely.

2.
Dogs are not allowed at the flying field (used for grazing sheep & cattle throughout the year)

3.
No litter of any kind must be left at the site.

4.
The amenity of the tenant farmer is paramount. Our activities must not detract from his ability to rear stock efficiently and productively.

Other site users

Morriston farms rent out part of the hill to a shooting club. They also allow a local hunt to control foxes at the site. GMC has good relations with both organizations and have had no instances of operational conflict.
